As a church our commission is clear: Jesus commanded us to "go into all the world" Matthew 28:19. At First Baptist we take our calling seriously as we seek to take the good news of Jesus Christ to all peoples--to take his message to Monticello and Wayne County, all across the bluegrass state, to every corner of our great nation, and throughout the world.

Over the last few years we have sent teams to Russia, Poland, North Carolina (disaster relief), Tanzania, Brazil, St. Louis, Maryland, Eastern Kentucky, Boston, inner city Biloxi, Mississipi, and Lakeshore, Mississippi to help with rebuilding efforts after Hurricane Katrina. We are currently preparing for another trip to Mississippi this summer and an international trip to Russia this fall. We are committed to going into all the world.
